Toyota Motor Manufacturing of Kentucky commissioned this cherry outback style hat from Chris for its president, Mr. Fujio Cho, in 2006 upon the occasion of his return to Japan. "Mr. Cho took the hat I made for him and a Louisville Slugger baseball bat to Japan with him," said Chris. "The hat now resides in the Toyota Museum in Nagoya."

Through the Arms of the Maker

This was the second sculptural piece Chris made in collaboration with his twin brother David for the American Association of Woodturners 2012 Annual Symposium held in San Jose, California. The base is a turned piece of black granite.

Who's On First?

"I always got a kick out of the Abbott and Costello comedy routine 'Who's On First?'," Chris said. "So, I thought, I need to turn that into a piece of art." He got his opportunity when the American Association of Woodturners held its annual invitational exhibition at the Louisville Slugger Museum in 2000. "Every year they have a theme for the symposium. That year it was 'Step Up to the Plate.'"
